Ernest Arsenault

NORTH OXFORD - Ernest J. Arsenault, 89, of Main St., died Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster. He was predeceased by his first wife, Rita (Prunier) Arsenault who died in 1987; and his second wife, Diane L. (Duggan) Arsenault who died in 2010. He is survived by his daughter, Linda A. Lavalle of North Oxford; two stepdaughters, Pamela Antos of North Grosvenordale and Sherry Belanger of Thompson; two sisters, Theresa Gosselin of Auburn and Rita Herzog of Florida; a granddaughter, Tracy-Lynn Vanderpuye of Gardner; four great grandchildren, Zoe, Zahara, Zane, and Zeke; and three step grandchildren, Sydney Antos, Jared Belanger, and Justin Belanger. He was predeceased by four brothers, Eugene, Yvon, Gerard, and Alfred Arsenault; and two sisters, Loretta Leger and Imelda Coyle. He was born in Rumford, ME, son of the late Hector and Elia (LeBlanc) Arsenault, and lived in North Oxford for most of his life. Mr. Arsenault was a greeter at Walmart in North Oxford for 18 years. Previously, he worked for Consolidated Freightways and various other trucking companies as a salesman. He had many hobbies, including painting, calligraphy, repairing violins and watches, and making rosaries. He was a notary public for many years and enjoyed raising canaries and parakeets in his aviary. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at St. Joseph's Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph's Church, P.O. Box 388, Charlton City, MA 01508. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
