OXFORD / MILFORD - Emily L. (Chisam) Sullivan, 89, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, John L. Sullivan of Milford who died in 1976. She is survived by her daughter, Tammy M. Hewett and her husband Shane of Oxford; four grandchildren, Tom, Nick, and Kaylah of Oxford, and Kim of Southbridge; one great grandson, Dominic of Southbridge; a niece and a nephew. She was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Crooker; two brothers, Dana Chisam and Stanley Chisam; and a niece. She was born in Wiscassett, Maine, the daughter of the late Harold and Mabel (Blackman) Chisam, and lived in Milford for 50 years before moving to Oxford 10 years ago. Mrs. Sullivan worked at Westboro State Hospital for many years, retiring in 1999. She also worked for Cushing Hospital in Framingham. She graduated from Wiscassett Academy in Maine in 1939, and was valedictorian of her class. A funeral will be held on Friday, December 31, 2010, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 12 noon at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Milford. Calling hours are Thursday, December 30, 2010, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472.
