DUDLEY - Elmer E. "Chick" Chickering Jr., 77, died Wednesday, November, 18, 2009, at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. He was predeceased by his wife Janet T. (LaMountain) Chickering of Oxford, who died in 1995. He is survived by three children, Stephen D. Chickering of Dudley, Deborah A. Bourgeois of New Orleans, LA, and Crystal A. Sanders of Marietta, GA; two sisters, Catherine Hamel of Putnam, CT, and Elizabeth Weagle of Thompson, CT; four grandchildren, Steve Chickering, Jimmy Bourgeois, Kyle Chickering, and Emily Sanders; and several nephews and nieces. His brother Robert Chickering predeceased him. He was born in Webster, the son of the late Elmer E. and Florence (Barry) Chickering, and lived in Dudley for over 40 years. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1950, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Chickering retired as a supervisor at David Clark Co. in Worcester in 1995, where he had worked for 40 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4241 in Oxford. A funeral will be held on Monday, November 23, 2009, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Military burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford, with the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard participating. Calling hours are Sunday, November 22, 2009, from 1-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
