CHARLTON – Elizabeth M. (Seale) Stevens, 94, of A.F. Putnam Road, died on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at the Life Care Center of Auburn, after a period of declining health. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Herbert C. Stevens of Charlton who died in 2015. She is survived by two children, Daniel S. Stevens of Charlton, and Janice A. Pena and her husband Juan “Carlos” of Southbridge; her brother, David R. Seale and his wife Patricia of Hernando, FL; two sisters, Joan Carlson of Middlesex, VT, and Anna L. Donahue of Attleboro; three granddaughters, Ashley C. Bastien and her husband Mark of Ellington, CT, Chandler S. Goodhue and her husband Cole of Enosburg Falls, VT, and Madison M. Stevens of South Boston; and two great-grandsons, Brody R. Knight and Thomas P. Bastien, both of Ellington, CT. She was predeceased by a son, Nathan S. Stevens who died in 1967; and a brother, William B. Seale. She was born in Dedham, daughter of the late Ralph and Bertha L. (Ekberg) Seale, and lived in Dedham before moving to Charlton in 1962. She graduated from Dedham High School.
Mrs. Stevens worked at Southbridge Savings Bank in Charlton for many years, retiring as assistant branch manager in 1992. Previously she worked for Norfolk and Dedham Insurance Company in Dedham for many years. She was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Oxford, and was an active participant at the church over the years. She was a former member of the Finance Committee in Charlton. Mrs. Stevens enjoyed cooking, baking, visiting relatives, and caring for her grandchildren. She believed that family was everything and there was always room at the table for one more.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
