SPENCER - Elizabeth "Betty" A. (Wright) Sadlon, 81, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, at her daughter's home in Oxford. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael W. Sadlon who died in 2001. She is survived by nine children, Donald B. Thayer and his wife Shannon of San Antonio, TX, Magarette A. Boutillette and her husband Chris of Oxford, David E. Thayer and his wife Kay of Fontana, CA, Kim-Laurie Thayer and her husband Robert Hathaway of Putnam, CT, James L. Thayer and his wife Brenda Lee of Long Beach, CA, Ross P. Thayer and his wife Pamela of Ranch Palos Verdis, CA, Ellen Addeo of Huber Heights, OH, Lorne C. Thayer and his wife Irene of Redwood City, CA, and Heather E. Sandman and her husband David of Worcester; six stepchildren, Karen Bergstrom and her husband John of Leicester, John Henault of Holyoke, Mark Sadlon and his wife Paula of Old Lyme, CT, Mynette Michaels and her husband Donald of Clarksberg, TN, Melany Updyke and her husband David of Margaretville, NY, and Justin Sadlon and his wife Emilie of Morristown, TN; a brother, Fred Wright and his wife Barbara of Texas; four sisters, Harriet Nickerson of Dennisport, Eunice Putnam of South Yarmouth, Dorothy Bousquete of Canterbury, CT, and Virginia Hatch and her husband George of Wells, ME; 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two stepsons, Michael Sadlon and Merrek Sadlon; and a brother, George Wright. She was born in Natick, the daughter of the late Leonard and Anna (Putnam) Wright, and lived in Webster before moving to Spencer in 1982. She graduated from Hopkinton High School in 1949 and Quinsigamond Community College. Betty was a registered nurse at Radius Healthcare in Southbridge for 19 years, retiring in 2008. Previously, she worked at Worcester City Hospital in Worcester, Memorial Hospital in Worcester, Hubbard Regional Hospital in Webster, and Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. She was a member of Greenville Baptist Church in Rochdale. She enjoyed dedicating time to her church and spending time with her family. Memorial calling hours will be held on Friday, June 15, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at the Greenville Baptist Church, 674 Pleasant St., Rochdale. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Baptist Church, P.O. Box 396, Rochdale, MA 01542.
