OXFORD - Elbridge "Al" Dubois, 89, of Quobaug Street, died Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn A. (Gonyea) Dubois who died in 2004. He is survived by two children, Gwen Rothwell-Meunier and her husband Richard Meunier of Thompson, and Gregory Dubois of Oxford; two grandchildren, Benjamin Rothwell of Eastford, CT, and Shannon Rumrill of Pomfret, CT; and two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Logan Rumrill. He was born in Fort Kent, Maine, the son of the late Alexis and Celina (Pelletier) Dubois, and lived in Fort Kent and Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1956. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II. Mr. Dubois was a superintendent at L. Hardy Knife Company in Worcester for over 40 years, retiring in 1984. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling. A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472 or www.alz.org/MANH. Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford is assisting with arrangements.
