OXFORD – Edward Skebos, 94, born in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, on December 8, 1927, to Anthony and Lucy Skebos, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 8, 2021. A longtime resident of Oxford, Massachusetts, he retired to Spring Hill, Florida, in 1994. Edward along with his parents owned and worked on a farm in North Brookfield. After serving as a fireman in the Navy during the Korean War, he worked as a foreman for a tree service until retiring in 1989.
While living in Cherry Valley and Oxford with his wife Marjorie, he raised three children and many foster children. Ed enjoyed gardening, camping, traveling, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves his wife of 68 years, Marjorie (Gustafson) Skebos; his daughter, Nancy Roche and her husband John; two sons, David Skebos and his wife Robin, and Mark Skebos and his wife Debbie; his daughter-in-law, Nancy Skebos; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. His eldest son, Thomas Skebos, predeceased him.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at the Spring Hill United Church of Christ, 4244 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HPH Hospice Sturgill Care Center, 12242 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL, 34613, or to the Spring Hill United Church of Christ, 4244 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, FL 34609.
