Edward Rocheleau

December 11, 1923 — January 9, 2014

OXFORD - Edward E. Rocheleau, 90, of Old Depot Road, died Thursday, January 9, 2014, in his home. He was predeceased by his wife of 27 years, Mary (Ivashek) Rocheleau of Shrewsbury, who died in 1983. He is survived by three brothers, Peter Rocheleau of North Oxford, Donald Rocheleau of Worcester, and David of Deltona, FL; many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces, whom he had a great love for. He was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Rocheleau; and two sisters, Eileen Levasseur and Elaine Candiano. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Emile and Elsie (Carlson) Rocheleau, and lived in Shrewsbury before moving to Oxford 30 years ago. He graduated from Millbury High School and was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II as a medic. Mr. Rocheleau was a machinist at Norton Company and Wyman-Gordon for many years. He was a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and was a fan of the Red Sox. The family would like to thank the staff at Tri-Valley Elder Services and the V.N.A. of Southern Worcester County, for their exceptional care and support. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014, at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA 01475.
