OXFORD - Edward S. Cadarette, 86, of Linden Street, died January 10, 2010, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gertrude E. (McGrath) Cadarette of Oxford; three sons, Douglas Cadarette of Charlton, James Cadarette and his wife Audrey of Woodstock, CT, and Edward Cadarette and his wife Sandra of Oxford; two daughters, Janet LaBonte and her husband Michael of Dudley and Joanne O'Connor and her husband Kevin of Oxford; eight grandchildren, Christopher Cadarette of Worcester, Jack Cadarette and his wife Lauren of Millbury, Emily Kent and her husband James of Marlboro, John F. Cadarette of Woodstock, Dane LaBonte of Sturbridge, Corey LaBonte of Boston, Kerri and Kyle O'Connor of Oxford, and Kristen Cadarette of Auburn; three great grandchildren, Joseph, John J., and Cameron Cadarette of Auburn; and his best friend and brother-in-law, George McGrath of Winthrop. He was predeceased by a sister, Miriam (Cadarette) DeCourcy. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late John F. and Anna T. (Walsh) Cadarette, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1953. He graduated from St. Peter's High School in Worcester and was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, serving in Okinawa, Japan. Mr. Cadarette was a foreman for the MA State Dept. of Bridges for 37 years, retiring in 1984. He was a gifted carpenter and also enjoyed his computer, CB radio, gardening, traveling, and especially spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford, a volunteer at the Oxford Community Food Shelf, a former little league baseball coach, and a member of many international radio clubs. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
