OXFORD – Edward L. Butler of Oxford, MA, 59, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in his home. Mr. Butler worked at Westborough State Hospital for 27 years, retiring in 2010. After retirement, he worked at Walmart in Leicester and operated his own scrap metal business from his home. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and working in his yard, riding his motorcycle, and playing the lottery and keno. He enjoyed all animals and was especially fond of his dogs, Lou, Panda and Lexi. He will be remembered as someone who was very giving, loved to joke, told great stories, and always had a positive attitude and a smile on his face...even after losing his eye in a freak accident.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, June 27, 2016, from 5-9 p.m. at the American Legion, 227 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Edward L. Butler, Memorial Fund, Southbridge Savings Bank, PO Box 370, 253-257 Main St, Southbridge, MA 01550.
