Edmond Butler

North Oxford - Edmond J. Butler, 84, of Southbridge Road, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Webster Manor Nursing Home. Edmond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris M. (Blais) Butler of North Oxford and many nephews and nieces. He was born in North Oxford, the son of the late Richard J. and Ida C. (McCarthy) Butler, and lived most of his life in North Oxford. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Mr. Butler was retired from the Oxford Public School System where he worked as an electronic technician. He previously worked for Pinkerton Electro Security, Webster; Bay State Electronics, Southbridge; and Harvey Wells Electronics, Southbridge. Edmond had his Radio and Television Master Technician License and built the 1st CB station, #1W1406, in Oxford. He owned and operated Butler Sound Service and provided the sound system for the Oxford Founders Day when it first started. In his 40's he was an aircraft pilot at Grafton Airport for many years. He was a police sergeant in the Oxford Police Reserves from 1955 to 1970. He was a member of St. Ann's Church, North Oxford. A military funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, May 14, 2010 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Flowers may be sent or memorial donations may be made to St. Ann's Church, P.O.
