Dorothea Orcutt

OXFORD - Dorothea T. Orcutt, 89, formerly of Main Street, died Monday, October 12, 2015, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester. She is survived by her sister, Earlene M. Smith and her husband Dr. Emerson Smith of Oxford; and many nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Earl E. and Agnes V. (O'Rourke) Orcutt, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford over 60 years ago. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and attended Becker Junior College in Worcester. Mrs. Orcutt was a secretary at Marshall Diggins Insurance Agency in Worcester for many years. She was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford, and belonged to the church choir for many years. She was a member of the Oxford Woman's Club, the Worcester Ski Club, and enjoyed knitting, gardening, and playing the piano. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Roch's Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
