Doris Lewis

AUBURN - Doris V. Lewis, 74, of Park Street, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by three children, Deborah A. Brown of Douglas, David E. Lewis and his wife Janet of Milford, and Lisa M. Ferreira and her husband Roy of Shrewsbury; her former husband, Henry Lewis of Brimfield; her brother, Brave Flying Eagle and his wife Gab Suk of Charlton; her half brother, Francis Soucie of Leicester; her stepbrother, Raymond Soucie of Leicester; eight grandchildren, Shanna Herring and her husband Michael, Alisha Guenzel and her husband John, Kerri Lewis, Kristin Lewis, Erica Ferreira, Nicole Ferreira, Christopher and Matthew Rando; six great grandchildren, Rhett and Gracie Turnbow, Tristan Herring, John Jr., Staci, and Rosie Guenzel; and several nephews and nieces, including a very special nephew, William S. Wright; and several cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, William H. Wright. She was born in Leicester, the daughter of the late Kenneth Wright and Exilda "Dell" (Volka) Wright. She graduated from Leicester High School and attended Worcester State College, where she received her certification in early childhood education. Mrs. Lewis was a nursery school teacher at Bethel Nursery School in Auburn for over 30 years, retiring in 2012. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Auburn, and loved to read. She enjoyed staying home to raise her family when her children were young, and loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. noon on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 90 Bryn Mawr Ave., Auburn. Burial will be held in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Spencer. Calling hours are Saturday, March 15, 2014, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the service.
