NORTH OXFORD – Doris T. (LaMountain) Gagne, 98, formerly of Leicester Street, died peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2015, at Webster Manor with her grandchildren by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Philomond J. Gagne Jr. who died in 1989; her son, Philomond J. Gagne III who died in 2015; her brother, Edward J. LaMountain Jr. who died in 1994; and her sister, Janet Chickering who died in 1995. She is survived by three grandchildren, Brenda A. Gagne of Holland, Curt J. Gagne and his wife Theresa of Oxford, and James J. Gagne and his wife Rebecca of Brimfield; a great-grandson, Andrew G. Gagne of Oxford; and many nephews and nieces. She was born in Oxford, daughter of the late Edward A. and Alvena (Bonire) LaMountain, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford.
Mrs. Gagne owned and operated Gagne’s Market in North Oxford with her husband for many years, retiring in 1979. She completed a Red Cross Home Nursing course in 1952. She was a lifelong member of St. Ann’s Church in North Oxford and enjoyed playing cards, family gathering, and especially spending time with her family.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015, at St. Ann’s Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. on Friday morning at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., 2nd Floor, Framingham, MA 01701.
