Doris Davis

OXFORD – Doris J. (Plante) Davis, 77, of Sutton Avenue, died Monday, January 16, 2017, at Southbridge Rehabilitation and Health Center. She is survived by her husband, Arthur D. Davis of Oxford; six children, Crystal Prunier of Charlton, Cindy Boucher of Oxford, Maureen Davis of Oxford, Kathy Lanciault and her husband Brian of Dudley, Arthur D. Davis Jr. and his wife Sandra of Oxford, and Paul Davis and his wife Angela of Oxford; a brother, Albert Plante Sr. of Florida; eight grandchildren, Amy Boucher, Anne Prunier, Mary Sujo, Jennifer Brissette, Kelly Woods, Brian Lanciault Jr., Amanda Davis, and Daniel Davis; and three great grandchildren, Mackenzie Woods, David Woods III, and Norah Sujo. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Plante and Donald Plante; and a sister, Teresa Farwell. She was born in Springfield, daughter of the late Henry and Matilda (Mainville) Plante, and lived most of her life in Oxford.

Mrs. Davis worked at Ethan Allen Furniture and Crewe Associates for several years. She was active in the Oxford Little League for 20 years, volunteering as a coach, manager, and player agent, and serving as vice president of the league and president of concessions. Music was very special to her. She enjoyed playing the organ and singing, and played in “The Good Times” band with her daughter and friends. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, quilting and was an avid Red Sox fan. Doris loved nothing more than spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
