OXFORD – Doris M. (Gaudette) Bombard, of Eddy St., died Monday, November 28, 2016, at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Francis C. Bombard of Oxford who died in 2005. She is survived by three sons, Robert F. Bombard and his wife Patty of Charlton, William C. Bombard and his wife Lucy of Providence, RI, and Richard J. Bombard and his wife Maureen of Marlboro; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jason Bombard who died in 2011; and two sisters, Theresa Belliveau and Vivian Stevenson. She was born in Cumberland, RI, daughter of the late Alcide R. and Malvina A. (LaChance) Gaudette, and lived in Cumberland and Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1952.
Mrs. Bombard was an active member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford, where she participated in many church activities and volunteered in ministries through the years. She was a community volunteer, helping at the senior center and the Meals-on-Wheels program. She traveled throughout the world with her husband, from the Great Wall of China and the Egyptian pyramids, to the Arctic Circle. She will be remembered as a loving Wife and Mom and a very giving person, who loved her family more than anything.
A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Roch’s Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
