Donna Yankus

OXFORD - Donna M. Yankus, 62, of Beech Street, died Monday, June 22, 2009, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident earlier that day. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Steven D. Yankus of Oxford; her son, Daniel E. Germain of Oxford; three brothers, Leonard Glidden Jr. of Grafton, James Glidden of Auburn, and Joseph E. Brule Jr. of Worcester; four sisters, Patricia M. Hopkins of Arizona, Madeleine E. Caplette of Arkansas, Theresa R. Tontonoz of South Carolina, and Lisa A. Gevry of Dudley; two grandchildren, Bryan Germain and Brittany Germain, both of Oxford; her ward, Larry Thorpe of Oxford; and many nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Leonard Glidden Sr., and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. She attended Oxford Public Schools in Oxford. Mrs. Yankus was a developmental assistant at the Southern Worcester County Rehabilitation in Webster for several years, retiring over 10 years ago. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Oxford. She enjoyed classical music, crocheting, crafts, going to the movies and the Big E. She loved babies, her dogs Lexi, Chouie, and Melanie, helping others, her grandchildren, and spending time with her family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday July 2, 2009, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 49 Old Webster Rd., Oxford. Burial will be on Friday, July 3, 2009, at approximately 11:30 a.m. at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, July 1, 2009, from 6-9 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
