Donna Thomas

OXFORD – Donna F. (Earley) Thomas, 67, formerly of Main Street, died Monday, February 8, 2016, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus, after she partied hard and beat everyone at it. She is survived by her daughter, Megan M. Earley of Shrewsbury; two stepchildren, Jonathan Thomas and Gina Thomas, both of Worcester; three sisters, Lynn M. Morin of Southbridge, Kathleen J. Butler of Oxford, Jacqueline A. Earley of Grafton; three brothers, Kevin M. Earley of Oxford, Terrance J. Earley of Oxford, Barry P. Earley of Oxford; many nephews and nieces, including Rebecca Sherwood, Amber Anderson, Jesse Wilksman, and Jamie Sherwood; three nephews who she considered her grandchildren, Beau, Matheau, and Thomas Ellis; and her aunt, Phyllis McAuliffe. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard H. Thomas who died in 1990; and two sisters, Michelle Earley who died in 1953 and Barbara Sherwood who died in 1996. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Kenneth F. and Shirley F. (Sandy) Earley, and lived most of her life in Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School and attended Worcester State College.

Mrs. Thomas was the assistant town treasurer for the Town of Oxford for several years, retiring in 1984. She was a lifelong supporter of WGBH, the A.S.P.C.A., and the World Wildlife Fund. She worked for the election campaign of Robert Kennedy and will be remembered as a loving mother to her siblings, her siblings’ children, and their children.

A funeral will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main, St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours are Thursday, February 11, 2016, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
