OXFORD – Donald F. Butler, 87, of Liberty Lane, died Friday, June 23, 2023, at Accent Care Hospice Residence in Milton. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pauline (Capuano) Butler of Oxford; his daughter, Darlene Chachi of Oxford; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including his best friend of many years, Danny Jeyzk; and his beloved dog of 16 years, Sammy. He was predeceased by his sister, Nancy Gauvin. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Wilfred Francis and Ellen (Odgren) Butler. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Butler was a salesman at Floors Unlimited in Worcester prior to retirement. Previously, he was the warehouse manager at G&M Company in Worcester for many years. He enjoyed all sports. He will be remembered as an artistic man who enjoyed drawing and painting.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington for their exceptional care. They would also like to personally thank complex case manager Christa Cavallo, for all her love and compassion – she went above and beyond to help Don and his family.
A private graveside service will be held at St. Brigid’s Cemetery in Millbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
