Donald Anderson

NORTH OXFORD - Donald H. Anderson, 87, of North Water Drive died June 26, 2011. He leaves his wife 38 years, Beverly A. (Boutillette) Anderson, a daughter Tamara J. Demicco and her husband, Benjamin; two grandchildren, Andrew Michael and Lillian Rose Demicco. His first wife died in 1971. He was predeceased by a sister, Jane E. Lawson. He was born in Worcester, the son of the Hjalmar V. and Christine R. (Hannagan) Anderson and lived in Worcester for many years. He graduated from Commerce High School and the Worcester Industrial Technical Institute and attended Worcester Junior College. Mr. Anderson was an Army Veteran of World War II and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater as a Staff Sergeant and earned two Battle Stars. Mr. Anderson was a Master Tool and Die maker and was last employed as a foreman at the Sprague Electric Co. At one time, he was a licensed Amateur Radio Operator using the call letters K1VMD. He was a life member of the Oxford VFW and the Webster DAV. He was a member of St. Ann's Church in North Oxford. Donald enjoyed music, reading, and his home workshop, but most of all, the time he spent with his loving wife and family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all the staff and friends of the Summit ElderCare, 1369 Grafton Street, Worcester, for the outstanding care and compassion given to Donald in the last year of his life. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, June 30, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford.
