MENDON - Diane D. (Degnis) O'Connell, 62, of Providence Road, died Monday, November 12, 2012, at Milford Regional Medical Center, after a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Kenneth J. O'Connell of Mendon; seven children, Alan Degnis and his wife Jennifer of Medway, Kenneth M. O'Connell of Webster, Shane O'Connell and his wife Michelle of Uxbridge, Magen Lake and her husband Matt of Blackstone, Casey O'Connell of Mendon, Johnny O'Connell and his wife Angela of Millville, and Tara O'Connell of Whitinsville; two sisters, Nancy Daviau of Oxford and Carol Degnis of Worcester; 6 grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Joseph and Nancy (Burokas) Degnis, and lived in Worcester and Milford before moving to Mendon over 20 years ago. Mrs. O'Connell was a teacher's aide at the Evergreen Center in Milford for 17 years. Previously she worked with her husband on the family farm and greenhouse for 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Milford, and enjoyed baking, cooking, and gardening. A funeral will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, November 15, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
