Diane Briggs

OXFORD - Diane M. (Prefontaine) Briggs, 55, of Sutton Avenue, died Saturday, July 25, 2009, in her home after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Karl E. Briggs of Oxford; two children, Jonathan M. Briggs and his wife Jaimelynn of Oxford, and Cheryl A. Testagrossa and her husband Mark of Marlboro; her mother, Yvonne D. (Gregoire) Prefontaine of Florida; a brother, Robert Prefontaine of Dudley; three sisters, Linda Cahill of Webster, Emma McKinstry of Charlton, and Cheryl Armstrong of Florida; two grandchildren, Courtney Briggs and Allison Testagrossa; her father- and mother-in-law, Edwin and Gloria Briggs of Oxford; many nephews, nieces, brothers- and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth J. Prefontaine Jr. of Dudley, who died in 2002. She was born in Webster, the daughter of the late Kenneth J. Prefontaine Sr., and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1971. Mrs. Briggs was a rural postal carrier for the Auburn Post Office for many years. She loved playing volleyball, baking and decorating cakes, and most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 29, 2009, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private.
