CHARLTON - Diana C. (Zinkowsky) Dawson, 79, of Richardson Corner Road, died unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Thomas W. Dawson; her daughter, Diana L. King and her husband Rodney of Charlton; her sister, Doris Gilman of Oxford; two granddaughters, Melanie A. Woodcock of Charlton and Mellisa S. Chapman of Southbridge; eight great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Zinkowsky; and her sister, Rita Bartlett. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Viola (Norris) Zinkowsky, and was a lifelong resident of Charlton. She graduated from Charlton High School. Mrs. Dawson worked as an administrative assistant for State Mutual Life Assurance Company in Worcester, retiring many years ago. She enjoyed reading and doing crafts, including crocheting, knitting, and ceramics. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2011, at 9:30 a.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are Thursday, June 2, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the Charlton Senior Center, 37 Main St., Charlton, MA 01507.
