OXFORD – Deliose “Del” (Peloquin) Baarda, 90, of Carey Lane, died Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster. She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Sidney R. Baarda who died in 2003. She is survived by five children, Richard W. Baarda and his wife Laurie of Webster, James J. Baarda and his wife Sawitree of Woodstock, CT, John S. Baarda of Webster, Roseanna Madison of Colorado, and Lynne M. Briggs and her husband James of Oxford; a brother, Marcel Peloquin of Sturbridge; a sister, Rachel Monopoly of Worcester; thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Reginald Peloquin; and three sisters, Rita Dumas, Gilberte Lanoue, and Simone Peloquin. She was born in Rumford, ME, daughter of the late Emile and Florence (Boudreau) Peloquin, and lived in Maine, Canada, and Worcester, before moving to Oxford in 1959. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade High School in Worcester in 1950.
Mrs. Baarda was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her home and family throughout her life. She was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, August 8, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
