OXFORD / NORTHBRIDGE - Deborah A. (Monroe) Cram Sylvia, 54, of Church Street, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester, after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband whom she married on June 21, 2013, Frank Sylvia of Oxford; two sons, James R. Cram of Glens Falls, NY, and David R. Cram of Northbridge; two stepchildren, Nicole Sylvia and Peter Sylvia, both of North Reading; her mother, Carol Jean (Rosol) Monroe of Upton; her brother Thomas; two sisters, Darlene and Linda; two step granddaughters, Vassiliki Mpouris and Helena Mpouris; and several nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Edward Monroe, and was raised in Uxbridge and lived in Northbridge for 19 years, before recently moving to Oxford. She graduated from Uxbridge High School in 1976 and received her bachelor's degree from Worcester State College. Debbie was a manager at Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare for 13 years. Previously, she worked at the Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation. She was an avid volleyball player and loved golf, skiing, and disc golf. She loved the outdoors, and enjoyed whitewater kayaking and going to Point Judith to body surf and dig for quahogs. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours are Monday, July 15, 2013, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, Brookline, MA 02445.
