Deborah Germain

OXFORD – Deborah S. (Soly) Germain, 44, of Pine Street, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007, in her home, after battling cancer for several years. She is survived by three children, Danielle S. Page and her husband Franklin of Oxford, Steven J. Germain and his partner Laura Goodell of Webster, and Mark A. Germain and his partner Katy of Oxford; her companion and best friend, John Lilley of Quinebaug, CT; her loving and dedicated mother, Barbara A. Soly of Oxford; three grandchildren, Trinity L. Page of Oxford, Alexis Germain of Oxford, and Kaden M. Germain of Webster; her former spouse, Steven K. Germain of Arizona, two aunts, an uncle, and many nephews, nieces and cousins. She was born in Arlington, VA, lived for a couple of years in Arizona, and most of her life in Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School and graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with an associate's degree in science for registered nursing, where she was also a member of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. Ms. Germain was a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UMass Memorial Medical Center, 119 Belmont Street, Worcester, for 3 years. Previously, she worked for Child Health Associates in Auburn for 7 years. Ms. Germain was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Oxford, and was a previous member of the Sunday School Committee, the choir, the Board of Education, and Vacation Bible School at the church. She was a member of the Massachusetts Nurse's Association. She enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, and reading. Her children and grandchildren were always the center and most important part of her life. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 26, 2007, at the First Baptist Church, 693 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Main St., Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, February 25, 2007, from 1-3 & 6-9 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NICU Benefit Fund, c/o UMass Memorial Foundation, P.O. Box 2795, Worcester, MA 01613, or to the First Baptist Church, PO Box 577, North Oxford, MA 01537.
