OXFORD – David W. Wray, 72, of Nottingham Road, died Thursday, October 20, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cynthia A. (Spayne) Wray of Oxford; four children, Jennifer A. Bombard and her husband Jason of Sagamore, Pamela L. Maccio and her husband Domenic of Woolwich, ME, Denise M. Morgan and her husband Robert of West Brookfield, and Scott J. Wray and his wife Lauren of West Brookfield; his mother, Lillian V. (Tetreault) Wray of Auburn; his sister, Susan Cohen and her husband James of Etna, NH; eight grandchildren, Justin, Corey, Joshua, Madyson, Lilly, Alex, Owen, and Olivia; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Jane Lentz of Allentown, PA, who died in 1995. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Norman L. Wray, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford 41 years ago.
Dave graduated from South High School Worcester in 1963 and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Dave worked at Mercantile Image in Worcester for 25 years, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, swimming, trips to the casino, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday, October 24, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to Veteran's Inc., 69 Grove St., Worcester, MA 01605.
