WEBSTER – David Allen Swift, Sr., 64, of Dresser Street, died Tuesday, February 11, 2025, in his home, after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Annette M. (White) Howe Swift of Webster; seven children, Lauren Howland and her partner Arthur of Arlington, VA, Allison Dress and her husband Kevin of Clifton, VA, Emily Hegman and her husband Eric of Aldie, VA, David Swift Jr. and his partner Ashley Bedrosian of Dudley, Chelsea Testagrossa and her husband Ryan of Worcester, Benjamin Howe and his partner Kayla Coburn of Webster, and Patrick Swift and his wife Julia of Webster; twelve grandchildren, Haley, Brian, Connor, Bryce, Addison, Logan, Coraline, Kaiden, Kali, Kendra, Mariah, and Ivory; five brothers, Dean Swift and his wife Donna of Franklin, Douglas Swift of Randolph, Donald Swift of York, ME, Dana Swift of Boston, and Darren Swift of Southbridge; a stepbrother, Michael Beaudette and his wife Deb of Stoughton; his aunt, Jacqueline Moraes of Kennebunk, ME; and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Boston, son of the late Dean Alden and Marilyn J. (Nielson) Swift Sr., and lived in Hyde Park and Pelham, NH, before moving to Webster 35 years ago.
Mr. Swift worked as a power plant operator at Clark University in Worcester for nine years. Previously, he worked at UMass for seven years, Northeast Airgas for nine years, and Peterson Oil. He was a member of the Hamilton Rod and Gun Club in Sturbridge, and was an adult leader for the Blackstone Valley Young Marines when his son was involved. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and rode with the Blue Knights and Distant Thunder.
David loved trains, including model trains, and he was a Coca-Cola collector. He enjoyed camping, traveling to the beach – especially York Beach in Maine, and going to the mountains. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
A funeral Mass will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at St. Brigid’s Church, 59 Main Street, Millbury. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery in Millbury. Calling hours are Saturday from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass.
