CHARLTON - David A. Goodall, 91, of Old Oxford Road, died Saturday, January 4, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, following a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Virginia “Ginny” A. (Davis) Goodall of Charlton; two sons, Kenneth Goodall and his wife Deborah, and Bruce Goodall and his wife Elizabeth; a daughter, Wendy Roberts; two stepsons, Peter Lucht and his wife Karen, and James Lucht and his wife Jen; eleven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. He was predeceased by a son, William “Bill” A. Goodall who died in 2013.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Harry and Winifred (Jones) Goodall, and lived in Worcester and Westboro before moving to Charlton 37 years ago.
Mr. Goodall helped his father establish Goodall and Sons Tractor in Westboro, where he worked for many years before retiring in 1995. During retirement, he was an avid amateur farmer in Charlton, using several antique tractors to gather hay, taking care of horses and poultry and otherwise always keeping busy. Additionally, he sang in the Men of Song barbershop chorus in Framingham for several years and enjoyed reading history and watching historical documentaries.
Memorial calling hours are Sunday, January 19, 2025, from 1-3 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home at the conclusion of calling hours. Burial will be private at a later date at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson.
