AUBURN - David E. Gerber, 52, of Waterman Road, died suddenly on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Diane S. (Cadarette) Gerber of Auburn; two children, Eric D. Gerber of Webster and Shannon L. Gerber of Auburn; his father, Richard E. Gerber of Auburn; a sister, Diane M. Nelson of Dayville, CT; three grandchildren, Jayden M. Courtney, Taryn M. Gerber, and Jameson C. Gerber, all of Webster; nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Jeannette N. (LeClaire) Gerber, and lived in Oxford before moving to Auburn 21 years ago. He graduated from Bay Path High School in Charlton in 1977. Mr. Gerber was a mechanic for B.F.I. in Auburn for over 10 years. He enjoyed New England sports and was a car enthusiast. He loved anything outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. A funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 194 Oxford St. N., Auburn. Burial will be private at a later date. Calling hours are Tuesday, September 20, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, MA Chapter, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472, or to the American Diabetes Association, MA-NH Office, 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
