STURBRIDGE – Curtis A. Groleau, Jr. known to most as CJ, age 30, entered God’s hands on Saturday, April 17, 2021, after losing his ongoing battle with addiction. He is survived by his mother, Gaye A. (Gregoire) Groleau of Windsor and his father, Curtis A. Groleau, Sr. of Dudley. Besides his parents he left many uncles and aunts, Michael Groleau of Fountain Inn, SC; Roland Groleau of Thompson CT; Jeannie Foster of Sutton MA; Denise Gregoire of Dillingham, AK; Janice Williams of Sabastian FL; Donna Glanz of Orlando FL; Raymond Gregoire of South Haven MN; and Renee Gregoire of New Braintree MA. Living most of his life in Sturbridge MA, he graduated from Holy Name High School in 2008.
He worked in the construction industry and was an excellent craftsman. He was a handyman of sorts who most loved to tinker with mechanical equipment to figure out how to fix it.
He had a thirst for excitement and experienced it whenever he could through outdoor sports such as motocross and snowboarding. He also enjoyed fishing, hiking, and cycling. He was a natural athlete where sports came easy to him and enjoyed playing golf, baseball, and hockey.
His heart was always with people he knew who suffered similar addictions. The memory of his bright smile will never be forgotten. Our broken hearts will forever feel the loss and emptiness of his absence.
A private graveside service will be held at a date and time to be determined at St. Roch’s Cemetery, Oxford. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
