NORTH OXFORD - Conrad R. Farland, 79, of Leicester St., passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn A. (Cormier) Farland; two children, John J. Farland Sr. and Linda M. Dickson; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and eleven nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son, David E. Farland of Oxford, who died in 1998; a brother Leo Farland; a sister Alice Jacques; and a grandson, Christopher. He was born in Southbridge, the son of the late Gustave and Mary Jane (Blanchette) Farland, and lived in North Oxford for 60 years. Mr. Farland owned and operated Conrad's Auto Sales in North Oxford for over 40 years, retiring this past January. Previously, he owned the Village Getty in North Oxford and installed floors and carpeting for Kesseli and Morse in Shrewsbury. He also operated the Oxford Flea Market with his family. Mr. Farland worked with several charities, sponsoring them by selling cars. He was a fair man who wanted to give everyone the opportunity to own a car. Calling hours are Tuesday, December 28, 2010, from 6-8 p.m. at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A prayer service will conclude calling hours at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private at North Cemetery in Oxford.
