OXFORD - Clara B. (Gagnon) Forgette, 91, formerly of Camp Hill Drive, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the Meadows of Leicester. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Alfred E. Forgette who died in 2004; a son David M. Forgette, who died in 2006; five sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her son, Thomas F. Forgette of Salem; one grandson, nephews and nieces. She was born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth (Labrie) Forgette, and lived in Fall River before moving to Oxford over 50 years ago. She graduated from Durfee High School in Fall River in 1936. For 25 years, Mrs. Forgette taught over 2000 people how to braid rugs throughout Worcester County. She judged braided rugs at the Eastern States Exposition and had her rugs featured in American Homes Magazine. In her retirement, she created beautiful oil paintings on canvas and slate. She was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and loved reading. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009, at. St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Family and friends are respectfully requested to meet at the church. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Roch's Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540, or to the Meadows of Leicester, c/o the Activities Fund, 111 Huntoon Memorial Highway, Rochdale, MA 01542. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
