OXFORD – Christine P. (MacGinnis) Turner, 92, of Charlton Street, died peacefully on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by her family.  She was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Maynard L. Turner Jr., who died in 1993.  She is survived by four children, John R. Turner of Oxford, Sandra L. Smith and her husband James of Oxford, William A. Turner of Dayville, CT, and James A. Turner and his wife Jennifer of Putnam, CT; her sister, Alice M. Gilman of Webster; nine grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; nephews and nieces.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Cecil H. and Irene M. (Hewitt) MacGinnis, and lived in Oxford for the past 66 years.

Mrs. Turner was a certified nurse’s aide at Sandalwood Nursing Home in Oxford for many years prior to retirement.  She was a member of High Pointe Church in Thompson since 1990.  She was a former member of Chet’s Bowling League and enjoyed crafts, sewing, and knitting.  She loved her family more than anything, and she considered them the center of her life.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at High Pointe Church, 1208 Thompson Rd., Thompson, CT.  Burial will be held privately at North Cemetery in Oxford.  Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
