Christine Davis

WEBSTER - Christine E. (Hartland) Davis, 83, died Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard in Webster. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Bertram O. Davis Sr. of Charlton, who died in 1981. She is survived by four children, Bertram O. Davis Jr. and his wife Wendy of Dudley, Patricia Davis of Southbridge, Pamela Davis of Southbridge, and Dawn Davis of Palmer; a sister, Marion Hartland of Florida; six grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. She was born in Ludlow, the daughter of the late William and Cora E. (Morton) Hartland, and lived most of her life in Charlton and Webster. Mrs. Davis was a banquet waitress at the Sheraton Hotel in Sturbridge for 10 years, retiring in 1985. She also worked part-time in dietary services at the Masonic Home in Charlton. Mrs. Davis was an avid Red Sox fan and loved to play bingo. She enjoyed her many friends and the staff at Christopher Heights in Webster, which she always considered her second family. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Westridge Cemetery, Charlton. Calling hours are Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
