WORCESTER - Charles W. Benjamin, 73, of Plantation Street, died Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Beaumont of Worcester. He is survived by five children, Sharon Walker of Webster, Michael Benjamin of Connecticut, Amy Benjamin of Southwick, Dawn Nelson of Barre, and Nicole Benjamin of New Hampshire; his former wife, Elaine H. Benjamin; five brothers, Paul Benjamin, Richard Benjamin, Henry Benjamin, Frank Benjamin, and David Parks; two sisters, Betty Solomon and Patricia Oberheim; 15 grandchildren, 2 twin great grandsons, and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth Benjamin and Robert Benjamin. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Frank A. and Helen E. (Rivers) Benjamin Sr., and lived in Dudley, Oxford, Webster, and Leicester, before moving to Worcester four years ago. Mr. Benjamin worked at Lelanite in Webster for 5 years, retiring in 2004. Previously he worked at Standard Foundry in Worcester. He was a former member of the First Congregational Church in Oxford and was a member of the Oxford Lodge of Masons. He was an avid fan of the Patriots and Red Sox, and most of all enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. The family would like to thank Mary and the staff on the 1st floor at Beaumont of Worcester for the exceptional care they provided during his time there. Memorial calling hours are Tuesday, September 29, 2015, from 4-6 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the conclusion of the calling hours. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., 2nd Fl., Framingham, MA 01701, or to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 East 33rd St., New York, NY 10016.
