WORCESTER – Cecile M. Vigeant, 77, of Pleasant Street, died Friday, October 1, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Vigeant of Oxford; three nephews, Joseph, James and his wife Joey, and Michael and his wife Susan; three great nieces, Caitlin, Natalie, and Danielle; and one great nephew, Joseph Jr.. She was predeceased by her brother, Donald J. Vigeant who died in 2015. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Alphonse E. and Cecile L. (Gadbois) Vigeant, and lived in North Oxford for many years before moving to Worcester in 2001. She graduated from St. Louis High School in Webster in 1964.
Cecile was the housekeeper at St. Christopher Church in Worcester for 18 years, retiring in 2006. Previously, she worked for Youville House, Travelers Insurance, and Clark Mailing Service. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Worcester where she also served as a Eucharistic minister. She volunteered at the Bishop’s dinners on Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was an associate member of the Sisters of Saint Anne. Cecile enjoyed reading and participating in the tenant’s association where she lived.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 551 Pleasant St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. A calling hour will be Wednesday from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Sacrament Parish, 551 Pleasant St., Worcester, MA 01602, or to the Retirement Fund for Priests, 49 Elm St., Worcester, MA 01609.
