Cecile Connell

OXFORD – Cecile L. (Connell) Connell, 95, of Stuart Street, died Thursday, May 18, 2017, at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northbridge. She is survived by her son, William Connell of Bermuda Dunes, CA; her niece, Paula G. Kenney of Uncasville, CT; two great nieces and their families; and three second cousins and their families of Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Connell who died in 1992; and her sister, Evelyn Knapinski. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Merrill) Connell, and lived most of her life in Oxford.

Mrs. Connell was a telephone operator at Worcester Valve for many years. Previously, she worked at Sears and Roebuck. In addition to playing pitch and dominoes at the Webster Senior Center, she enjoyed rummy, backgammon, and reading.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, July 3, 2017, at St. John’s Cemetery, 260 Cambridge St., Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
