OXFORD - Catherine T. (Fulginiti) Amelin, 96, of Old Webster Road and formerly of Worcester, died Sunday, September 18, 2011, at her home. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Peter P. Amelin of Worcester, who died in 1991. She is survived by three children, Peter Amelin and his wife Cindy of Oxford, with whom she lived, Terry Perry and her husband John of Oxford, and Mary Ann Abasciano of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren, David Amelin, Tina Joubert and her husband Scott, Christopher Perry, Jessica Perry and her fiancé James Falconer, Melissa Abasciano, and Laura Abasciano; six great grandchildren, Morgyn, Korra, and Brooklin Joubert, Damien, Sophia, and Kaleb Falconer; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, Patsy, Anthony, and Frank Fulginiti; and two sisters, Mary Cechi and Rose Brink. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Francesco and Teresa (Gracia) Fulginiti, and lived in Worcester all of her life before moving to Oxford 10 years ago. Mrs. Amelin worked with her husband in their lite-lunch catering business for many years, retiring 20 years ago. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Worcester. She enjoyed cooking, especially Italian food such as macaroni and meatballs and Italian cookies. But her greatest joy was the time spent with her children and their families. The Amelin Family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff of Summit ElderCare of Charlton for their care and support. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. A calling hour will be Thursday from 10 - 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summit Elder Care, c/o Activities, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, MA 01507. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
