OXFORD - Cassandra (Lloyd) Barton Riggs, 57, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at the Sandalwood Center in Oxford, after battling multiple sclerosis for many years and recently developing cancer. She is survived by four children, Joanne Norris of Central Village, CT, Richard Weil II of Princeton, Brandy Barton of Plymouth, and Jamie Lopes of Marshfield; her mother, Martha Lloyd of Brockton; two sisters, Susan Tervo of Pennsylvania and Cynthia Daly of Brockton; a brother, Robert Lloyd of Brockton; her first husband, Richard Weil of Berkley; her second husband, James Barton of Roxbury; and six grandchildren. She was born in Ann Arbor, MI, the daughter of the late David Lloyd, and lived in New Jersey, Brockton, Franklin, Milford, and Marlboro, before moving to Oxford 10 years ago. Cassandra was a skilled artist and enjoyed writing poetry. She loved the ocean and was known for her infectious laughter. A funeral and burial will be held privately at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
