Carolyn Perkins

SUTTON - Carolyn G. (Lassiter) Perkins, 83, of Waters Road, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. She is survived by three children, Richard E. Perkins of Newark, DE, Carol L. Gagner and her husband Michael of Sutton, and Sandra L. Sorenson and her husband Jeffrey of Auburn, NY; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Perkins of Auburn; a brother, William Lassiter of Eugene, OR; two sisters, Ann Junkin of Coral Gables, FL and Janis Mecham of Gilbert, AZ; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, William M. Perkins who died in 2008; her son, William M. Perkins III who died in 2011; and her daughter-in-law, Barbara G. Perkins who died in 1998. She was born in Hialeah, FL, the daughter of the late William O. and Elizabeth (Gould) Lassiter, and lived in Florida, Auburn, Washington, and Georgia, before moving to Sutton 3 years ago. Mrs. Perkins worked at the Auburn Ten-Pin Bowling Alley in Auburn for many years. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed making and giving away quilts. People came from all over to get her candy apples that she made and gave away at Halloween at her home in Auburn. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. A funeral service and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
