Carol Allain

SPENCER - Carol A. (Bennett) Allain, 72, formerly of Howe Village, died Dec. 18, 2009, at Sunbridge-Sandalwood Nursing Home, after a long illness. She is survived by four children, Kathleen Arruda of Holland, Michael Allain and Donald Allain, both of Florida, and Nancy St. Francis of Spencer; a brother, Francis Bennett of Maine; a sister, Patricia Kelley of Worcester; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandsons, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Garry Allain of Florida who died in 1984; a brother, Thomas Bennett of Worcester; and a sister, Mary Surrette of Worcester; and her former husband, Donald Allain of Millbury who died in 2007. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Daley) Bennett, and lived in Leicester and Spencer before moving to Oxford in 2000. She was a former member of St. Mary's Church in Spencer. A private graveside service will be held at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sunbridge-Sandalwood Nursing Home, c/o the Activities Dept., 3 Pine St., Oxford, MA 01540. Paradis Funeral Home, Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
