CHARLTON - Bruce A. McCassey, 56, of Partridge Hill Road, died unexpectedly on Monday, September 14, 2015. He is survived by his fiancée, Pamela J. Maynard of Charlton; two children, Kristin L. Schultz and her husband Richard of Pittsfield, and Keith A. McCassey of Oxford; his mother, Marilyn L. McCassey of Charlton; his brother, John M. McCassey of Marlborough; his sister, Marilyn R. Prouty and her husband Dan of Charlton; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Lorelai Schultz who passed away in 2015. He was born in Marlborough, son of the late Wilbur M. McCassey, was raised in Stow and lived in Oxford before moving to Charlton 20 years ago. He graduated from Minuteman Vocational Technical High School in Lexington in 1978. Mr. McCassey worked at Sturbridge Metallurgical Services in Sturbridge. Previously he worked at Jeffco Fibers in Worcester and Package Industries in Sutton. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed visiting Lake George, Lake Winnipesaukee, and the Quabbin Reservoir, and loved boating, fishing, and hunting. He was a fan of the Patriots and Bruins, and most of all loved spending time with his family. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Capen Hill Nature Sanctuary, 56 Capen Road, Charlton, MA 01507. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
