OXFORD/SUTTON – Betty Lou (Pettis) Raymond, 88, died Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Roger M. Raymond who died in 2014. She is survived by five children, Roger M. Raymond Jr. and his wife Karen of Oxford, Robbin M. Donnelly and her husband Jack of Oxford, Steven R. Raymond and his wife Michele of Oxford, Linda L. Tagg and her husband Thomas of North Grosvenordale, and Paul J. Raymond and his wife Nancy of Georgia; a sister, Beverly Beaumier of Charlton; 12 grandchildren, Kristina, Timothy, Jennifer, Shawn, Andrews, Patrick, Christopher, Joshua, Brian, Taylor, Mitchell, and Elisa; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Richard; and two sisters, Shirley and Helen. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Walsh) Pettis, and lived in Sutton for over 50 years before moving to Oxford in 2016. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1954.
Mrs. Raymond worked in the cafeteria at Sutton Public Schools for 17 years, retiring as cafeteria supervisor. For many years, she was a stay-at-home mom who lovingly cared for her home and family. She enjoyed baking, cake decorating, and trips to the casino, but her passion was flower gardening. She enjoyed animals, especially cats, and operated a dog grooming business for a several years in her home.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023, at North Cemetery, Main Street, Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oxford Ecumenical Food Shelf, 4 Maple Rd., Oxford, MA 01540.
Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
