CHARLTON – Barbara Ann (Beland) Faford, 79, of Blood Road, died peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, in her home with her family by her side. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Paul M. Faford of Charlton; three children, Christine Bourgeois and her husband Mark of Tyngsboro, Michael Faford and his wife Carol of Charlton, and Rebecca Faford and her fiancé William Suchomel of Dudley; two sisters, Lorraine Berthiaume of Kentucky, and Linda Faford and her husband Peter of Charlton; ten grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Michele E. St. George who died in 2019; two sisters, Joan Hicks and Theresa Robichaud; and two brothers, Joseph Beland and Harry Beland. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Alphonse H. and Gladys (Stapleton) Beland, and was raised in Worcester before living most of her life in Charlton. She graduated from Ascension High School in Worcester in 1962.
Mrs. Faford dedicated herself to the nurturing of her home and family during the formative years of her children. A paramount joy in her life was the cherished moments spent with her beloved grandchildren. Among her passions were tackling crossword puzzles, savoring the timeless tunes of Elvis, indulging in the thrill of cruises, and exploring new destinations alongside her husband. A fervent supporter, she was an avid Red Sox fan. Mrs. Faford's unwavering commitment extended to her active involvement in the St. Joseph's Church community in Charlton, where she dedicated many years of her life.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd Ext., Charlton. The family will receive guests from 9:00-10:00 on Saturday in the church rotunda prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at West Ridge Cemetery in Charlton. Calling hours are Friday, November 17, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
