OXFORD - Arthur D. Worthington, 82, of Prince Street, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, in his home. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances (Irish) Worthington; two daughters, Kathleen Vanderhoof and her husband Frank, and Janet Howard and her husband Gary; a son, Eric Worthington and his wife Barbara; seven grandchildren, Charles Howard, Kimberly Vanderhoof, Joel, Michael, Neal, Stephen, and Joy Worthington; and a great grandson, Malachi Vanderhoof. He was born in Auburn on April 13, 1926, the son of the late Howard E. and Harriet (Kibbe) Worthington, and lived in Oxford since 1962. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Worthington was employed as an electronics parts salesman for over 20 years, which he enjoyed. He was a member of the HighPointe Church in Thompson, CT. He was a much loved husband, father, and grandfather. A graveside service will be private at North Cemetery in Somers, CT. There are no calling hours. Please omit flowers and donations, and instead do a kindness for someone in his memory. Paradis Funeral Home, Oxford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
