Arthur Davis, Sr.

OXFORD – Arthur D. Davis Sr., 77, of Sutton Avenue, died Sunday, March 12, 2017, at Webster Manor in Webster. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Doris J. (Plante) Davis, who died on January 16, 2017. He is survived by six children, Crystal Prunier of Charlton, Cindy Boucher of Oxford, Maureen Davis of Oxford, Kathy Lanciault and her husband Brian of Dudley, Arthur D. Davis Jr. and his wife Sandra of Oxford, and Paul Davis and his wife Angela of Oxford; two brothers, Phillip Davis of Oxford and Gerald Davis of Webster; sisters, Iona Gauthier of Florida and Beverly Chauvin of Connecticut; eight grandchildren, Amy Boucher, Anne Prunier, Mary Sujo, Jennifer Brissette, Kelly Woods, Brian Lanciault Jr., Amanda Davis, and Daniel Davis; and five great grandchildren, Avalon and Harleigh Huber, Mackenzie Woods, David Woods III, Norah Sujo, and his sixth great-grandchild on the way, Baby Brissette. He was predeceased by five brothers, Irving, Frederick, Alfred, Charles, and Russell Davis; and three sisters, Eunice Ratcliffe, Pauline Davis, and Joyce Thibert. He was born in Oxford, son of the late Van and Florence (Cove) Davis, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford.

Mr. Davis worked at Tufts Veterinary School in North Grafton for 25 years, retiring in 2003. He was active with the Oxford Little League for over 20 years as a manager and coach with his wife. He was an avid Red Sox fan. Mr. Davis and his wife cared for many foster children over the years, and his family was always the highest priority in his life.

A remembrance service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, March 17, 2017, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.
