OXFORD – Arthur J. Copper, 86, of Main Street, died Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Christopher House in Worcester. He was predeceased by his wife of 53 years, Shirley J. (Gravel) Copper of Oxford who died in 2003. He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl A. Pingalore of Auburn, and Deborah L. Bartlett and her husband Edward of Oxford; four grandchildren, Christopher and his wife Shem, Todd and his wife Renee, Tracy and her husband Philip, Richard and his wife Kim; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Caleb, Genevieve, Abigail, Gabrielle, Avery; and his brother-in-law, Jack Faucher of Boylston. He was predeceased by a sister, Edith Faucher. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Michael A. and Mary (Torone) Copper, and lived in Auburn before moving to Oxford over 30 years ago.
Mr. Copper owned and operated Northbridge House of Pizza in Northbridge for 12 years. He also owned Ed and Art’s Video Store in Oxford. Previously, he worked at Big Discount as a supervisor and meat buyer, and worked at Price Chopper in Worcester more recently. He loved riding his Harley and will be remembered as a very outgoing and social person who loved to be around people.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2016, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, October 27, 2016, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christopher House, c/o Resident’s Activity Fund, 10 Mary Scano Dr., Worcester, MA 01605.
