Anthony Ladago

September 26, 1925 — June 21, 2014

OXFORD - Anthony E. Ladago, 88, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21, 2014, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, after a period of declining health. He is survived by five sons, Michael of Sudbury, VT, Edward of Leicester, Mark of Frisco, CO, Darryl of Fairplay, CO, and Thomas of Worcester; three grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Dolores Rose (Demuth) Ladago; and eight siblings, Louis Ladago, Wanda Izbicki, Adele Ladago, Stella Reidl, Helen McCarthy, Louise Reilly, Walter Ladago, and George Ladago. He was born in Shrewsbury, the son of the late Lewis and Adela (Walukiewicz) Ladago, and was raised in Grafton Hill before moving to Oxford 65 years ago. Mr. Ladago was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a survivor in Okinawa and participated at the surrender of Japan military forces in the area of Tsingtao, China, on October 25, 1945. Mr. Ladago worked at Wyman-Gordon in North Grafton for 35 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5663 in Oxford, and enjoyed going to the casino, camping, and fishing. The family would like to thank the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence for providing comfort during his final journey to everlasting peace. Anthony also appreciated "Sandra" for all of her help and assistance. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial with military honors will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 8:30-10:15 a.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass.
