Anna M. Starkus-Peltier

NORTH OXFORD – Anna M. (Laugaud) Starkus-Peltier, 101, formerly of McIntyre Road, died Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at CareOne in Millbury. She was predeceased by her first husband of 25 years, Daniel Starkus of North Oxford who died in 1968; and her second husband of 25 years, Frieland C. “Hank” Peltier of North Oxford who died in 1998. She is survived by two children, George J. Starkus and his wife Dorothy of North Oxford, and Pauline A. Starkus of Auburn; two stepchildren, Edward J. Peltier and his wife Carol of West Hartford, CT, and Catherine M. Engle and her husband Gordon of Dudley; two grandchildren, Michelle Bernier and her husband Christopher of Auburn, and Timothy Belliveau and his wife Lindsey Gardell of Auburn; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Bernier of Tewksbury, and Tara Moir of Auburn; many step-grandchildren; and her dear friend, Patricia Donnelly of North Oxford. She was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Frances Roy; and a brother, Joseph Laugaud.

She was born in Bloomfield, CT, daughter of the late Justin and Kazimara (Zetraitis) Laugaud, and lived in Worcester and Auburn before moving to North Oxford in 1943. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1941.

Mrs. Starkus-Peltier was a secretary at Memorial Hospital in Worcester for 10 years, retiring in 1976. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church in North Oxford. She was a member and past president of the Friends of the Oxford Senior Center, and a member of the Friends of the Oxford Public Library. She was also a volunteer at the Oxford Senior Center. She was an avid bowler and bowled regularly at the Mohegan Bowling Alley in Webster. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

A funeral will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, December 5, 2024, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
